Today, the fully electric Enyaq iV model became the 100,000th iV car to roll off the Skoda Auto assembly line. The Czech manufacturer uses the iV brand for vehicles having a partially or entirely electric powertrain. Skoda Auto presently offers three iV models: the plug-in hybrid Skoda Superb iV and Octavia iV, as well as the fully electric Skoda Enyaq iV.

Skoda plans to release at least three more electric vehicles before 2030.

"In less than two years, 100,000 IV cars have been built - a terrific start to the electric era," says Michael Oeljeklaus, Member of the Board of Management for Production and Logistics at Skoda Auto. Many thanks to all factory staff who deliver our iV automobiles on time and in excellent condition. Now comes the next swift step: the Skoda Enyaq iV and the two plug-in hybrid variants are just the beginning.

In September 2019, Skoda Auto launched the Superb iV plug-in hybrid and the CITIGOe iV electric car, ushering in a new age of electric vehicles. Furthermore, the Skoda Enyaq iV, the first entirely electric serial Skoda automobile developed on the MEB Group platform for electric vehicles, made its world premiere in Prague in September 2020, marking another big step forward in introducing electric power for the Czech manufacturer.

Customers may pick between five power levels and three traction battery capacities in the Skoda Enyaq iV, which comes with rear-drive or all-wheel drive. In WLTP mode, it has a driving range of more than 520 kilometers depending on the variant. This practical electric SUV impresses with its generous interior space, which is typical of all Skoda automobiles, in everyday use. The new electric flagship also has all-new interior designs that replace the traditional equipment levels. The inside of the car's individual, well-coordinated shapes simplify configuration and create a clearly structured range of individual variations.

Besides electric vehicles, Skoda Auto also produces high-voltage batteries in the Czech Republic, both for its own plug-in hybrid models, the Superb iV and Octavia iV, and other Volkswagen Group brands. The production of batteries for the MEB platform, which is also utilized by the Skoda Enyaq iV electric car, will begin in Mladá Boleslav at the start of next year. Furthermore, the Czech company collaborates with its partners to establish a reliable supply chain for the advancement of electromobility.

NEXT LEVEL - Skoda Strategy 2020 is Skoda Auto's new long-term development strategy for this decade. It establishes ambitious targets in the areas of sustainable development, new market sales, and drive electrification. By 2030, the automaker wants to be one of Europe's top five best-selling brands. It plans to accomplish this by bolstering its position in the inexpensive car market and expanding its electrified model lineup. Depending on market conditions, the share of Skoda electrified vehicles in Europe will likely rise to 50 to 70 % by the end of the decade. By 2030, all of these measures are predicted to reduce fleet CO2 emissions by more than half.

Skoda Auto will also work with the Volkswagen Group and other corporate and government partners to make the Czech Republic one of the world's leading electromobility hubs. The new business plan also contains explicit objectives for long-term growth and diversity. @via the 100,000th Enyaq iV electric car.
