The new Fiat Tipo comes with a modified design, the latest infotainment and new engines, there is also a crossover version of the compact which goes by the name Tipo Cross. The facelifted Tipo is also available as a five-door and as a station wagon.

The prices are already out: the five-door starts at 17,000 euros, for the station wagon, at least 18,000 euros and the Fiat Tipo Cross crossover is available from 20,490 euros.

With the facelift, the model also gets the new brand logo. After the Fiat 500 electric car, the Tipo is the second Fiat with the new logo. The redesigned apron is dominated by a chrome trim element: the two side air inlets are framed by it and are connected by a narrow web that limits the upper air inlet.

The analogue instruments are being phased out with the new Fiat Tipo facelift, but there is now a digital speedometer. The designers have made the multifunction steering wheel a little more compact. It remains with the infotainment screen attached, but it grows to 10.25 inches. The Tipo is equipped with the latest Fiat infotainment "Uconnect5".

There are various assistants systems for the Tipo. These range from traffic sign recognition to an attention assistant and a high beam assistant. There are also two new colours (Ocean Blue and Paprika Orange) as well as newly designed 16 or 17 inches light-alloy wheels.

Fiat is initially bringing the new Tipo with two engines. The first one is a 1litre three-cylinder petrol engine with an output of 100 hp and 190 Nm of torque. Its five-speed transmission has been redesigned: now it should respond more quickly in city traffic and at the same time ensure comfort on the motorway. The second is a 1.6-litre diesel engine with 95 or 130 hp.
