The Californian startup Aptera Motors has presented its first electric vehicle. The three-wheeled solar electric car should achieve a range of up to 1,600 kilometres. However, measurements are made here in the American EPA cycle; according to WLTP, the range is likely to be somewhat lower.

The futuristic-looking electric vehicle wants to offer twice the range of the Tesla car with a battery of up to 100-kWh, which is also installed in the Tesla Model S Long Range. For additional charging, the manufacturer has integrated solar cells into the roof.

The Aptera Paradigm is to be the most energy-efficient vehicle that has ever been made available to consumers.

The three square meters solar cells from the roof provides a range of up to 72 kilometers per day on sunny days. For some users, the integration of the solar charging option could mean that they rarely or never have to charge the vehicle themselves. According to Aptera, the long range of the vehicle is due to its lightweight construction - the vehicle weighs between 800 and just under 1,000 kilograms.

The Aptera Paradigm with 150 kilowatts (203 hp) and three-wheel drive, in this case all-wheel drive, can accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.5 seconds, and according to Aptera, the top speed is 180 km / h.
